New Non-Profit Launched in Summit County to Support Ohio Communities
Akron, OH November 30, 2007—Community growth is an important factor in how we as individuals live
our lives with our family, friends, and those we care about. In an ongoing effort to promote positive
community growth, assisting those in need, and to honor the memory of one of Akron’s own community
members Tanisha L. Herrin has organized and launched the Nancy A. Herrin Foundation Inc. to provide
community support throughout the state of Ohio.
The foundation has many focus areas which includes supporting community sources that help improve
the quality of life for low-income and less fortunate children and adults, supporting community sources
that inform, educate, and provide information for citizens necessary for community growth, and
supporting health and wellness organizations that provide assistance to those who are suffering from
various diseases, illnesses, and disabilities.
“Growing up in the Akron I had a great interest in learning about the growth of the city and was excited to
hear about what my mother knew about Akron and what she learned,” said Tanisha Herrin, Founder,
Director of the Nancy A. Herrin Foundation Inc.
Currently the foundation has several fundraising projects in progress including candy glasses and
“pennies for kids” which is an ongoing fundraiser to collect funds to benefit the needs of children.

The Nancy A. Herrin Foundation Inc. was found by the only child of the late Nancy A. Herrin. She’s a
mother of one son and an inspirational writer with 3 published books available with proceeds to the
benefit the Nancy A. Herrin Foundation Inc.
The Nancy A. Herrin Foundation Inc. is a non-profit charitable trust community support
foundation. The foundation purpose is to distribute funds to sources throughout the state of Ohio that
assist individuals and families by way of improving their livelihood.
